SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6 - CELLO RECITAL
THE IMPORTANCE OF PERFORMING
GOAL A - Having an outcome for all the hard work a student is pouring into their instrument is important. With out a goal in mind a student can quickly become disenchanted with the instrument. A performance is something a student can strive for and look forward to. I always say " The key to success is motivation" performance is a motivation
GOAL B - PERFORMING IS LEARNING. When a student is preparing for a recital they are learning stage etiquette, audience etiquette, stage set up, how to deal with performance anxiety, how they personally react to being on stage, recovering from mistakes, listening skills, how to perform under pressure, and perform with others.
GOAL C - Performance time is alway a good time for students to receive encouragement from teacher, family and peers. This will give them more drive for the next performance and encourage them to work toward the next performance.
GOAL D - Students can learn from constructive criticism given during a performance. This will help students to learn and play better, and more important except corrections and learn from it.
I do not want a stuffy serious formal event. I like to encourage students to perform regularly for parents and friends. This is a time of learning and no one is judging this performance.
RECITAL WILL BE HELD AT THE CEDAR VIEW LDS CHAPEL - 1925 WEST 320 SOUTH
This chapel is straight East of my home if you could drive straight east. From Cove drive you will go east on Cody drive until it intersects 1850 West. Travel north on 1850 W. until you arrive at chapel.
